hi all,
the ODE project is now accepting donations, to help fund development
such as the new iterative solver and better trimesh collision:
http://ode.org/donate
to quote from the donations page:
Is ODE valuable to you, or to your company? If so, consider
supporting its continued development by donating to the
project.
Q & A
* What will donations be used for? Donations will help to pay for
the time required to continue development of ODE.
* Why should I donate? ODE is a uniquely valuable resource for game
developers and others in the simulation community: it is high
quality, and unlike other similar physics engines it is completely
open source. The BSD license allows you to use the engine free of
charge for anything you want. You can even pull apart the source
code to use in your own physics engine! Your donation will help to
ensure that ODE continues to improve.
* How do I donate money to ODE? Use one of the donation links at the
top of this page. Donations are accepted via credit card or PayPal
accounts. You can donate any amount. When you have donated, PayPal
will email you the receipt.
* Is my donation tax-deductible? Not in the US, since ODE is not a
not-for-profit corporation.
* How will my contribution be recognized? If you want your donation
to be recognized on the ODE web site, please indicate this in the
'comments' field in the PayPal form. You can, of course, also
choose to remain anonymous.
* I donated, but now I've changed my mind! You have 30 days from the
time you donate to ask for a refund. Refunds are given with no
questions asked.
* I am having a problem using the donation system. Check the online
help provided by PayPal or contact PayPal for assistance.
* I have a question about donations - who should I ask? Direct all
questions to Russell Smith.
