[ODE] About world's axis

I have a question about the ODE World's axis.
What is the vertical axis for ODE ?

I have tried to create the experimental applications.

The first, I've got that he vertical axis for my ODE World is Z.
But in the second application I coded, the vertical axis is Y.

So, I'd like to know the cause of this different.

Do I misunderstand something?
