[ODE] Very simple question regarding the demo programs

Hey, I got a question for you guys.
In the demo app (say.. box stack) whenever objects are rendered, their side
length width and height are multiplied by 0.5 (divided by 2), and here's the
question - why?

I am testing with boxes right now, of course if I don't divide by 2
everything looks wrong (too big obviously), but I mean.. why do I have to
divide stuff by 2??
