[ODE] ODE 0.6's geom offsets

Hi,
I'm using 0.5 at the moment and have quite a few compund objects that use geomtransforms to set the local offset and orientation of each geom in a body. I would like to move onto 0.6, and I was hoping to remove my use of geomtransforms in favour of the new geom offsets.
From the changelog, it looks like the offsets are allowing a local translation for each sub geom, but no orientation, and I will need to keep each local orientation of each geom. Am I reading this wrong, and there is some other way of setting up a local orientation for a geom in a compound body wihout the use of a geomtransform, or is it not designed that way?
If it isn't designed that way then I'm happy to continue using geomtranforms, but am worried that in future releases you may remove geomtransforms alltogether?

    thanks
