Rodrigo was about to start working on the convex hull support and
reorganizing the collision primitives, and I was hoping to get an
0.6-beta1 out sometime next week. I didn't want to be gated on having
all of that stable.

I could easily drop the current 0.6 branch, and create another later
when everyone feels more comfortable with it. However, at some point
we're going to be relying on everyone with svn to follow the rules
while we get the release ready.
I don't think going to a single branch is the right solution, since it
prevents people from pushing forward on legitimate new work (which I
considered the convex hull support to be).
For now, consider the current 0.6 branch deprecated and just work on
the trunk. The last thing I want to do is slow down development. Just
keep in mind that anything that goes on the trunk is going into 0.6,
so try not to introduce any big new features (like, say, convex hulls
;)
I'll respond to the rest of your post in a separate email.
