[ODE] First person shooter - falling over

Okay, I have managed to set up this amotor connecting my sphere to the
static world. To prevent rolling. However, after moving it wobbles
around a bit before becoming perfectly upright. Any idea why? And how
to stop it?
Also - at the moment i'm applying a force to move the player. Is this
how it should be done? (or should I set velocity directly or use some
strange amotor system etc....)
