Heya
You don't really need a joint to achieve this for your planted trees.
If you create a box geom that represents the trunk of the tree ( tall and
thin)then it will sit on the ground with out a joint. You then need to
create your tree with a very low cg. When you tank runs into the tree it
will not fall over until the cg passes over the edge of the box. If your
tank backs up before this critical point the tree will return to its
original position. In fact if you make the cg of the tree below the ground
the tree will pop back up after the tank has passed over it. With the
correct mass and moi for the tree it will sway back and forth before it
settles.
