The definition of a shockwave is that it's greater than or equal to the speed of
sound. The speed of a shockwave from an explosion is actually much greater than
the speed of sound (~347m/s), and varies depending on the type of explosive
involved. Quoting from
http://www.forensics.edu.au/downloads/Section2Physics.pdf page 49:

"Typical shockwave speeds generated by detonating
explosives:
ANFO ~3000 m/sec
PETN 6400
TNT 6900
Tetryl 7200
RDX 7800
HMX 8000"
