[ODE] Newbie question - bodies interpenetrating

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to ODE and just started studying it.

I would like to know, in the case where two primitives (let's say two  
boxes) intersect, how are contact points and impulse forces computed.  
When I say "intersect", I mean penetrating, not touching.

I found no explanation in the HTML  doc.
