hinge2 *is* a "less sophisticated vehicle model" :)
real vehicle models have 100's of parameters which require ten
different experts to tune them all. i think you mean: is there
a plan to provide an optimized solver to deal with special cases
such as cars? i have no plans to do this - i'd much rather 
concentrate on ODE as a general purpose rigid body library.
also, special case solvers need their own APIs - putting each
special case directly into ODE will cause bloat.
