[ODE] SVN rev 966 builds squeaky clean on my OS X box

There is a (harmless) warning when running autogen.sh on MinGW with 
automake 1.8.2 we can overlook.

And some tests runtime issue on cygwin (something to do with cygwin not 
allowing a console to be created or something like that).
