[ODE] trouble compiling from SVN on Debian Sid (unstable)

The error just went away on my end after reinstalling Linux (faulty 
drive), so I really dont know exactly what did I do,
I wouldnt be surpriced if it had to do with some autotools not playing 
along with the others.
