[ODE] Trimesh Sphere collision in the wrong place.

I have constructed a scene using the same procedure as in test_basket.cpp.
In my scene is a static trimesh tunnel and a sphere.
The problem is that contact points only are generated severel seconds/units
efter the sphere has passed through the wall of the tunnel.
How can that be when I use the same data for the trimesh and for opengl??
Any help appreciated!
