Anyway, I use both VC and MinGW quite a bit for win32.  In addition I also
use eclipse for alot of work.  They all have strengths.

Personally, using gdb from within emacs works fine for me.  Set a
breakpoint, view a variable, troubleshoot, all done.  Plus, it's the same
on windows and linux.

PS The idea of using CPPUnit for ODE is great....
