[ODE] debugging

I mostly agree, and I find Visual Studio environment for debugging superior 
for workflow. 

Having said this, perhaps Eclipse + CDT GUI might improve the GDB situation. 
Eclipse + CDT + GDB looks 'promising'. If you bother, perhaps you should 
give it a try, and update your rant ?
