[ODE] Re: [Openal] linux : autogen.sh not working?!

tried that already,

after installing if  run autoconf from the folder where i compiled it it 
says:

[root at localhost autoconf-2.59]# autoconf
configure.ac:32: error: Autoconf version 2.58 or higher is required
aclocal.m4:208: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE is expanded from...
configure.ac:32: the top level
autom4te-2.5x: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1


if i then try to compile openal i get:

[root at localhost linux]# autoconf
configure.in:147: warning: AC_TRY_RUN called without default to allow cross 
compiling
configure.in:256: warning: AC_TRY_RUN called without default to allow cross 
compiling


and if i just run it any any old folder:
autoconf: configure.in: No such file or directory

Damn that autogen.sh and its crap about cross compiling!

Actually, your distribution is lacking autoconf and autoheader, which are 
requirements for compiling openal from scratch.  These tools are easy to 
install and available from ftp.gnu.org:/pub/gnu/autoconf.
