Hello Michael,

it seems the answer is relativly simple.

take Huygens-Steiner  theorem on moment of intertia 

and have alpha = Sum of all Torques / Moment of Inertia on point of contact.

then you have

 alpha = T / ( 2/5*m*r*r + m*r*r)

then you get your observed result.
