I suggest using realistic values for starters.  Then, if you have
problems, go back and tinker with the values and see how much that
helps.  Tell us what you find. :-)

The docs say to keep lengths and masses between 0.1 and 1.0.  I've never
really paid attention to that, and I haven't had trouble.  But, I tend to
pick numbers between 0.1 and 100, so I'm mostly messing around in a range
only one order of magnitude larger than what the docs suggest.
