[ODE] Sliding and spinning on a plane

Hello,
We're using ODE in a table shuffleboard game. In my preliminary tests,
if I put a box on a plane and apply an initial horizontal force, it
slides and slows to a stop nicely. However, if I also put some "spin"
on the box by applying an initial torque, the box slides further as I
would expect (less resultant drag), but the path of the box doesn't
curve like it would in reality. Is this realworld phenomenon something
the physics model in ODE simply doesn't reproduce, or is there something
specific I need to tweak in the contact properties that will make this
happen?
