[ODE] 2D Rectangle Geom??

I'm currently using BoxGeoms for roads for my vehicles. I'm wondering if
there is a more performant solution.
All I really need is a 2D rectangle to collided against, or put another way,
a bounded plane!
Can I create a BoxGeom with zero height? If I do, is the speed of the
collision test increased? I'm guessing that this either can't be done, or if
it can the speed of the collision test is no different.
The other option I guess would be to create a new geom from scratch. That
might be a little over my head. Has anyone thought of creating such a geom?
Would the performance be much greater than the Box geom??
